OK, I understand that this type of wrenching may be beyond you, but my point is not to give up hope. If you can get her running again, and oil is still coming out, then it may be just gaskets. Let us know exactly where the oil is coming out, and we'll help. If oil is just coming out around the top of the head, then it is a simple (30 minutes) fix because the Savage doesn't even have a gasket up there (just sealer!). So it might not be too bad.
